Nelson Rodriguez, Chief of Staff at Major League Soccer (MLS)
Having been involved in North American soccer for over 30 years, Nelson Rodríguez is an experienced leader on both the commercial and competition sides of the sport. He currently serves as Chief of Staff for the Commissioner’s Office in Major League Soccer.
Prior to returning to MLS where he previously served for nearly 15 years, Rodríguez joined Chicago Fire FC in September 2015 as General Manager. In January 2018, he took on an expanded role as President and GM.
Before joining the Fire, Rodríguez held positions with U.S Soccer Federation (Managing Director, National Team Advisory Services), Chivas USA (President), Major League Soccer (EVP, Competition and Game Operations), Soccer United Marketing (SVP, International Business), MetroStars (Director, Soccer Operations) and Lafayette College (Head Coach, Men’s Soccer).
