MSc Football Business (Online) and MSc International Sport Management (Online) are able to start in either September or January with all other online degrees only starting in September.

Live sessions of the online programs starting in September are delivered in the early evening of the GMT/BST time zone, whereas live sessions for the January starts are delivered in the early evening of the AEST/AEDT time zone. All sessions are recorded and therefore accessible for students across the globe.

When applying to study an online degree with GIS, you can choose to study in any of the available time zones to suit your schedule wherever you are in the world.

Brand new from 2023/24, students can also study the MSc Football Coaching & Analysis (starts September 2023), MSc International Sport Management (starts January 2024) and MSc Sports Coaching (starts January 2024) degrees in a blended format, with the majority of content delivered online with live sessions in the early evening of the AEST/AEDT time zone, plus two separate weeks of intensive in-person teaching in Melbourne.

  • Local Health Assured services - Ranging from stress and anxiety to financial wellbeing and medical information, students have 24/7 access to a Student Assistant Program;
  • Careers support services - All students receive dedicated support from our Employability & Career Planning team, including career development and skills workshops, one-to-one job application support and signposting, a unique sports industry mentoring program and access to LinkedIn Learning;
  • Flexibility - Learn in your own time with academic content available on demand.

Live sessions

Synchronous, live sessions will be delivered to provide students with the opportunity to interact with tutors and develop a deeper understanding of their subject. There will be three to six live sessions on each module to complement the asynchronous academic content which provides the greatest studying flexibility. 

When applying to study an online degree with GIS, you can choose to study in any of the available time zones to suit your schedule wherever you are in the world. For added flexibility, students can also access recordings of these live sessions.

In addition to the live academic sessions for every module, online students in these regions will have convenient access to our support teams, including study support, pastoral support, IT support and library support.

Regular access to the Melbourne Cricket Ground

To further enhance the learning experience of our online programmes around the world, there will be various touchpoints throughout the year for all students, including guest speaker sessions, networking opportunities and in-person events in each region including our Global Sports Summits at our hubs in Melbourne, Miami, New York, Atlanta, and Toronto

All students are also invited to the regular activities at our UK campuses in London and Manchester.
