We are delighted to announce the Women’s Football Summit at our upcoming 2023 GIS Melbourne Global Sports Summit in Australia this July alongside Football Coaches Australia.

The summit is aimed at anyone with an interest in women’s football or coaching in football, and is a great opportunity for people to meet with a selection of leaders from FIFA, Football Coaches Australia and A-League clubs.

Focusing on evolutionary interventions and cultural change required for Australian women’s football coaches, the summit hopes to impact on their experiences and representation levels in future.

The Women’s Football Summit will take place at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground at 8.30am on the morning of Tuesday, July 25.

Hosted by BBC Sport presenter Mark Clemmit, some of the industry leaders and experts holding talks throughout the day include:

  • Michelle De Highden – AIS High Performance Coach Development senior lead
  • Glenn Warry – CEO of Football Coaches Australia
  • Belinda Wilson – FIFA, senior technical development manager for women's football
  • Dr Deidre Anderson AM – social scientist, leader and elite athlete transition specialist
  • Mark Torcaso – Western Union FC head coach and Helen Winterburn, Western Union FC assistant coach
  • Mike Conway – CEO of XVenture and mental agility coach of the Socceroos
  • Sarah West – vice president of Football Coaches Australia

The day will also include plenty of networking among the industry experts, and a panel discussing the upcoming 2026 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
