Everyone at the Global Institute of Sport is thoroughly looking forward to the Soccerex Miami Conference, taking place this month in the heart of the Magic City.

As Soccerex’s official education partner for 2023-24, GIS will be at the conference as exhibitors, showcasing what we offer to the American and global sports industry, especially in the lead up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Other exhibitors at the event, which is to take place between November 14 and November 15 at the Mana Wynwood Convention Center include Serie A, CONCACAF and La Liga.

This is Soccerex’s fourth Miami conference, after successful events in previous years. This year, UCFB and GIS students have the opportunity to gain work experience over in the United States, thanks to the partnership between ourselves and Soccerex.

Students attending the event will also get the chance to network with executives from the biggest clubs in world soccer, such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, PSG, Liverpool and both Manchester United and Manchester City.

One of the highlights of our partnership is a C-Suite executive-themed day course, scheduled to take place on November 13 at our Miami Campus based at Inter Miami’s DRV PNK Stadium.

On the following day, between 1.10pm and 1.40pm, GIS will be hosting a panel discussion, ‘Football Pitch to Elevator Pitch.’

On the panel, moderated by Mark Clemmit, will be GIS President Sharona Friedman, as well as Dr Erkut Sögut and GIS graduate, former United States soccer international Oguchi Onyewu.

GIS regional director for the Americas, Catherine Garrido, said: "We are excited to be returning to Soccerex Miami, to what is regarded as the premier global sports event for soccer leaders and professional athletes from around the world.

"We are delighted we will have GIS leadership, not only attending but participating in expert panels and we welcome GIS students who will be working behind the scenes with the Soccerex team.

"Please do take time to visit GIS at Booth 422."
