Benjamin Chevreau, who studied MSc Football Coaching and Analysis, now works as a Football Tournament Analyst at FIFA, which has seen him working at tournaments including the 2022 Qatar World Cup and CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Benjamin said about his role at world football’s governing body: “My role at FIFA involves notational coding of enhanced football data set primarily post-match, and on occasion, live according to the new FIFA language and softwares.”

He added: “The first in-person tournament I was a part of at FIFA which was the Qatar Men’s World Cup. The environment we were working in was amazing and the importance of the data we were collecting was rewarding. It was an unforgettable month.”

When asked about his time at GIS, and how that helps him in his position at FIFA, he said: “I was looking for a course which could give me the necessary tools to work within the industry.

“When I found a course which had both coaching and analysis, I knew that would give me the best chance to develop my knowledge.

“What makes it even better is that you’re learning in an environment like no other. You don’t need motivation to go to classes when it’s at the iconic Wembley Stadium.”

“At GIS, I learnt how to use my first analysis software which was crucial in my development.

“I had a great time at GIS. My lecturers were very helpful and the peers in my class were all like-minded, motivated individuals. I would recommend it to anyone.”
