Having conducted our Global Institute of Sport 2024 Graduate Census, we are delighted to share the results and look at how our 2023 alumni have got on!

At GIS, we take pride in seeing our graduates secure work, and since graduating last year, 98.68% of our students are currently in employment, matching the high rate we recorded last year. This lives up to our mission of consistently being a top sports education institution for graduate employment, as outlined in our Vision 2026.

Building on this employment number, an incredible 79.15% of those graduates are working in the sports industry.

A great example is Sarah Levy. Since graduating from GIS, Sarah has been able to apply her knowledge to her role as an Academy Player Care Manager at the Premier League. Having studied on our MSc International Sport Management course, Sarah spoke to us about how, despite having worked in sport before, her studies added to her already broad knowledge of the industry.

Explaining the breadth and usefulness of her time at the Global Institute of Sport, Sarah said that, “During my course, I came across a number of modules I would have never come across, which now I take a lot of into my day-to-day work.”

This is just one of the highly-skilled roles that 97% of our graduates in the industry work in. Another example is Aman Jain, who is now a manager at IOS Sports and Entertainment, a sports agency in New Delhi that represents 75 athletes from 22 different sports. Having studied the same course as Sarah, Aman emphasises the industry expertise of GIS, saying how he, “loved meeting people like Paul Barber, Roy Hodgson and Gus Poyet and asking them questions about the industry.

“This kind of exposure is something I have not seen… I think people at other universities do not get this kind of experience.” GIS students have the opportunity to further this exposure by attending our Global Sports Summits held in four locations around the world, something Aman says are a “brilliant way to network.”

Commenting on the latest Graduate Census, which had a higher than industry-standard response rate, Global Institute of Sport President and CEO, Sharona Friedman, said: “These results showcase the incredible achievements of our graduates across the global sports industry.

“Our purpose is to unite, inspire, and equip the current and future leaders of the global sports industry with the skills, knowledge and network to take the world of sport to continually new heights and these latest survey results validate the work that our whole team and our partners do to maximise the career prospects of our students.”
