I moved from India to the UK to pursue my masters. After many failed attempts at trying to secure a role in the football industry, I decided to pursue the MSc Football Business Master’s with GIS. After the completion of my course, I secured a placement job with Watford FC, where I worked for over 3 years. I now work for Portsmouth FC, as their Partnerships Manager.
My initial goal was always to work for a European football club. Today my goal is to become the Commercial Director of a British football club, and raise the profile of Indians in the senior management sector of the football world.
Currently working as the Partnerships Manager within the Commercial department at Portsmouth Football Club. I look after all sponsorships associated with the football club, and my main responsibility is to generate substantial revenue for the football club.
GIS actually makes your dream come true unlike any other sports education institution around the world. I had already completed a masters from another institution but hadn’t succeeded in establishing a career in the sports industry. I decided to pursue another masters with GIS after seeing the different courses and exposure that they were able to provide students. From the moment I began my course, I knew things were going to be different and much more tailored towards helping me develop the necessary skills to obtain a job within football. That’s exactly what happened. The rest as they is history and today I feel I am on my path towards achieving my dream.
