Global Institute of Sport (GIS) and Women Sport Australia are delighted to be continuing their partnership, which sees the two organisations extend their female-focused scholarship opportunity.

The institutions have joined forced to provide a number of unique opportunities for women in Australia to further their careers within the national and global sports industry, the latest of which is a scholarship for GIS’ September 2024 intake.

This scholarship is aimed at those looking to further their career in sport whilst showing a
commitment to improving opportunities for women and girls in Australian sports.

Any Australian female applicant to any of GIS’s distance or distance with attendance programs with at least three months’ experience in sport is eligible for the scholarship, which looks to enhance opportunities for the next generation of female sports leaders.

Benefits of the scholarship include:

  • 15 per cent tuition fee discount (approximately $3,000 AUD)
  • Industry experience with Women Sport Australia
  • Applied research project on a Women Sport Australia challenge
  • Mentorship with a Women Sport Australia industry contact
  • Free access to a GIS Global Sports Summit

Speaking about the scholarship, Women Sport Australia Vice President Chantella Perera said: "We're delighted to continue to provide learning and development opportunities for women in sport in Australia via our scholarship with Global Institute of Sport.

“This builds on last year, where we were pleased to provide an excellent opportunity for Louise, a fantastic sports administrator to further her formal education within sports management with mentorship from a Women Sport Australia board member with a great deal of experience in their shared field.
