Two Opportunities, Two Coasts

Right now, GIS students can apply for paid internships at professional clubs on opposite sides of the United States:

Northern California – USL League Two. Work inside Almaden FC, a competitive men’s professional pathway club in the heart of Northern California, gaining experience across coaching, operations and matchday environments at one of the country’s fastest-growing football markets.

East Coast – USL League Two. Join the youth setup at Seacoast United, coaching age-group teams and working alongside experienced staff in a fast-paced, professional soccer environment.

Both placements are paid, run alongside your studies, and give students genuine responsibility from day one.

From the Classroom to the Pitch

GIS student Charlotte Purcell is one of those living the dream. While studying her MSc Performance Analysis in Football, Charlotte is coaching U9 and U10 players at Seacoast United, combining her studies with real, paid coaching experience in American soccer.

“What attracted me most to this internship was the opportunity to develop in every aspect of my career,” Charlotte says.

“It has allowed me to grow personally by pushing myself outside of my comfort zone, while also developing professionally in a role I had never experienced before, within a youth football environment that is very different from the one back home.”
