If Melbourne is the home of Australian sport, then the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) is the heart of it. This iconic venue is the largest stadium in the Southern Hemisphere, boasting a capacity of over 100,000 people. Itβs a stadium rich in history and is the scene of some of Australian sportβs most memorable moments.
Melbourne is home to our MSc Football Coaching & Analysis course, where, alongside flexible online learning to suit your schedule, you will undertake intensive periods of learning on campus.
The MCG is the birthplace of Test Cricket, the home for the AFL Grand Final and has hosted the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games along with a range of major events and concerts.
Located in arguably the worldβs premier sports precinct, the neighbouring Melbourne Park and AAMI Park venues host Australian Open tennis, A-League football and both rugby codes, allowing GIS students a truly unique sporting and cultural experience.
GIS students have the opportunity to study an online degree or a distance with attendance degree which includes a residential period of face-to-face teaching at the MCG as well as other first-class locations in Melbourne. Opportunities to attend guest speaker sessions, networking events and the annual summit also take place at the MCG to allow students to immerse themselves in Australian sport.
