Accelerate Action: Driving Momentum in Women’s Football – A Networking Event at Lotto Park, R.S.C. Anderlecht

The Global Institute of Sport (GIS), in partnership with Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and R.S.C. Anderlecht, is set to host Accelerate Action: Driving Momentum in Women’s Football on Monday, 3 March 2025, at Lotto Park. This exclusive networking event will bring together key stakeholders—players, executives, federations, researchers, and future leaders—to explore the next steps in the evolution of the women’s game.

Women’s football is expanding at an unprecedented pace, drawing increased attention from fans, sponsors, and investors worldwide. Yet, despite its remarkable growth, challenges remain—from financial and structural inequalities to barriers limiting long-term sustainability. As the game continues to evolve, bold action is needed to drive lasting change.

Timed ahead of International Women’s Day, this event will focus on investment, commercialisation, and the long-term success of women’s football. Through keynote talks and expert panels, industry leaders will share insights on how to accelerate the sport’s momentum, both on and off the pitch.

Sharona Friedman, President of GIS, on the Event:

“At GIS, we believe in the power of sport to drive meaningful change. Women’s football represents an incredible opportunity for innovation and impact, but unlocking its full potential requires bold entrepreneurship, strong partnerships, and the courage to challenge the status quo.
