GIS Course Ranked Amongst World’s Best Sports Master’s Programmes

For the third year running, Global Institute of Sport is proud to share that one of our courses has been ranked in the prestigious SportBusiness’ top 40 Postgraduate Course Rankings! 

MSc International Sport Management has placed exceptionally well in multiple categories. 

When students join GIS, they hope to use their experience for employability within the exciting sports industry, whether they’re starting out in their dream career or looking to further it. Helping students in this sense is something GIS prides itself on, and GIS ranks tied first in the Employability at 12 Months of graduation category. Meet the GIS alumni who are leading the global sports industry. 

One of these graduates is Sarah Levy. Graduating in 2023, Sarah works at the Premier League as an Academy Player Care Manager, where she works with academies to support players in their off-the-field development.  

Speaking to GIS earlier this year, Sarah said: “GIS was a really good place for me to be able to bring new ideas and new perspectives to a lot of the work that I was doing.” 

“During my course, I came across a number of modules I would have never come across, which now I take a lot of into my day-to-day work.” 

GIS’ strong employability statistics, including 98% in full-time work or education within 9 months of graduating and 79% working in sport, are one of the reasons that this is the third year in a row that GIS have been ranked in the global top 40. Adding to Sarah’s comments, external examiner Dr Mike Rayner labelled the course as: “Strong, with a passionate teaching team. 

“In the years that I have external examined the programme, the course offering has not only grown but also developed into the online market and is a clear national leader in this domain.” 

As well as being a national leader, the master’s degree is in the top 15 in Europe overall, while ranking 3rd for the best online sports management course in the world.
