As part of GIS’ exciting Global Sports Summit series, students will once again have the exciting opportunity to travel to Melbourne, Miami, Toronto and London.

Whether it be cricket at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, executives from the Toronto Maple Leafs or exploring the beautiful sites of Miami, the GIS Global Sports Summits have something for everyone.

In each of our summits students can expect behind the scenes access to key sporting organisations. This will of course vary depending on the country.

Melbourne

Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) hosts the summit in Australia and what a place to be. Over ten days of workshops and networking opportunities, students will get to take in the 100,000-capacity stadium.

At the home of cricket, students will be immersed in the industry with extraordinary networking opportunities with some of the biggest organisations in Australian sport.

Previous guests have included Nick Hockley, CEO of the T20 Cricket World Cup and Peter Wearne, facilities general manager for the MCG.

The summit does of course go beyond cricket, with other previous guests including C-suite executives at Tennis Australia, Melbourne Victory, FIFA and AFL club Collingwood.

The Global Sports Summit in Melbourne is a brilliant opportunity for students to experience a different sporting culture in the largest stadium in the Southern Hemisphere.

Toronto

Canada is a rapidly growing force on the international sports front and the centre of that force is firmly planted in Toronto.

The summit largely takes place at BMO Field, home of 2017 MLS Champions and treble winners Toronto FC

Representatives of the MLS’s only Canadian Champions will host students over the week-long summit, with senior leaders from the club speaking and networking with students throughout their stay.

This summit isn’t only about football though, with students also accessing the iconic Exhibition Place, home of 13-time Stanley Cup winners the Toronto Maple Leafs and 2019 NBA Champions the Toronto Raptors.

The plethora of sporting action doesn’t stop there; Toronto is also home to Canada’s only Major League Baseball (MLB) team, the Toronto Blue Jays as well as Canadian Football League (CFL) headquarters.

For a range of different sports, no city is quite as diverse as Toronto.

Miami

When looking for a blend of top-level sports and a beautiful city with an outstanding culture look no further than Miami.

One of MLS’ newest franchises and home of Lionel Messi, Inter Miami CF is the centre of attention in the coastal city, but there are plenty of historic franchises to enjoy besides.

MLB’s Marlins, the NFL’s Dolphins, the NHL’s Panthers and NBA’s Heat ensure that Miami delivers the biggest and best in American sports all year round.

In a city with such a range of professional sports organisations, the guests students can expect to meet are of an equally high standard.

London

Students are also able to take in the home of football at UCFB’s Wembley Stadium campus in the UK leg of the Global Summit series.

The iconic 90,000 seater stadium also hosts annual NFL matches and the biggest concerts in the country.

This is a unique opportunity to hear from and network with the biggest names from European sport in what is one of the world’s truly global cities.

Whether it be Melbourne, Toronto or Miami, the GIS Global Sports Summits are an experience of a lifetime. Don’t miss the opportunity to take part in one of these incredible trips and look out for more information on booking your place!
