GIS student Millie Chandarana wins FA Women’s National League Cup with Nottingham Forest

Global Institute of Sport student Millie Chandarana has won the FA Women’s National League Cup with Nottingham Forest.

The midfielder, who is a part-time MSc Football Business student, started in the final and helped Forest earn a 3-1 victory against Stoke City.

Chandarana is the recipient of the world’s first South Asians in Football Leadership scholarship, providing her with an opportunity to work closely with Trehan Football founder and Sky Sports News journalist Dev Trehan.

Speaking exclusively to GIS, Dev said:

“Nottingham Forest are so deserving of this success – and we’re all thrilled that Millie has been an integral part of that, growing in influence on and off the pitch.

“The men’s team remain on course to qualify for the Champions League and I have every confidence that Millie and the girls will go on and win the league title now and clinch promotion to the Women’s Championship.

“This promises to be a historic season for Nottingham Forest Football Club, and we’re all unbelievably proud to see Millie at the forefront of that. She’s a credit to British South Asians and English football.”

Alisa Khakhar, Head of Student Recruitment at GIS, added:
“Millie’s journey is a fantastic example of what’s possible when talent, hard work, and opportunity come together. Her achievements on the pitch and her commitment to her studies are truly inspiring, she represents everything we aim to support at GIS.”
