UCFB and GIS were delighted to have been crowned winners at the 2023 Football Business Awards, winning the ‘Best business serving football – over 200 employees’ category.

We were awarded the nomination thanks to the many students and alumni who have gone on to impact the football industry, both during and after their studies.

With alumni working at all 20 Premier League clubs, and no fewer than 68 of the 92 Premier League and Football League sides, it is clear to see how the great work of our students have helped us achieve this award.

The victory was our first since 2020, when we won at the Sports Business Awards in the ‘Best non-matchday use of venue’ category.

The final was held at The Brewery in London on Friday, May 26, with an illustrious panel of judges including:

  • Jeff Mostyn, former chairman of AFC Bournemouth
  • Sanjay Bhandari, chair of Kick It Out
  • Yvonne Harrison, CEO of Women in Football

He said after the win: “This award is in recognition of the amazing graduates from UCFB and GIS who are transforming the football landscape year after year.

“The work they put into their studies is extraordinary, and they follow it up by having incredible careers in the football industry.

“They continue to improve the quality of the professionalism in the industry, which is ultimately what we aim to do at UCFB and GIS.

“A special mention also has to go to our global partners in the football industry, who we have amazing relationships with, as they help our students gain the experience needed to impact the industry for the better.”
